IFC-led $700m financing for Abydos II Aswan Solar and Battery Storage Project (Egypt)
AMEA Power (60%) and Japan's Kyuden International Corporation (40%) partnered with the International Finance Corporation and a consortium of lenders (Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, FMO, DEG, British International Investment, OPEC Fund for International Development, Europe Arab Bank) to finance a $700 million, 1,000MW solar plant with 600MWh battery storage in Aswan, Egypt - billed as Africa's largest single-site solar-plus-storage project. Commercial operations targeted June 2026.

Envision Energy - AMEA Power agreement for Amunet II 500MW wind project (Egypt)
AMEA Power signed an agreement with China's Envision Energy for the Amunet II 500MW wind project in Egypt's Gulf of Suez, AMEA Power's second utility-scale wind project in the country, taking its combined Egyptian wind capacity toward 1GW. Announced at Africa Energy Forum 2026.

MIGA up to $1.48 billion guarantee framework for AMEA Power renewable portfolio
The World Bank's Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) executed framework terms of up to $1.48 billion in guarantees supporting ~$1.65 billion of equity, quasi-equity and shareholder loan investments across up to 23 AMEA Power renewable energy and battery storage subsidiary projects (wind, solar PV, BESS) in 10 countries across Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Phase 1 covers Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Jordan, South Africa, Togo, Uganda and Uzbekistan (~2,766 MW).

AMEA Power & Cox - Angola seawater desalination plant (Water Alliance Ventures)
AMEA Power and Spain's Cox Group, via their joint venture Water Alliance Ventures, signed a Cooperation Agreement with Angola's Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA) to develop a ~$200 million, 100,000 m3/day seawater desalination plant on the Mussulo Peninsula near Luanda, serving over 800,000 people. Builds on a 2022 MoU and 2023 Development Agreement; commissioning targeted Q2 2028.
